To celebrate the opening of our Christmas Cabin we are putting on a new event in December – Breakfast With Santa!

The breakfasts will be held every weekend in December, and every day during the week leading up to December 25 (including Christmas Eve).

It includes a child’s breakfast (3 items from a cooked breakfast menu with toast and a drink) a story read by an elf and a gift from Father Christmas.

The breakfasts in our Coffee Shop will last 45 minutes and start at 9am, 10am and 11am.

Ten children per session and one accompanying adult per child.

Our brand new Christmas Cabin is on schedule to open on September 1.

It’s more than just a place to sell fabulous decorations, trees and lighting…we are transforming the Cabin into a truly magical experience for visitors of all ages.

A TEAM from an Ingleton Food Hall is donning their walking boots this month to raise money for the North West Air Ambulance.

Staff from Country Harvest will be taking part in the 23.5-mile Yorkshire Three Peaks’ challenge on August 21.

 

All money raised from the event will be donated to Country Harvest’s charity of the year, NWAA.

The team includes Cassie Harrison, who has previously completed the 42-mile Keswick to Barrow walk ; Food Hall manager Richard Simmonds; award winning butcher George Taylor, his mum Becky and fiancée Harriet; Gift Hall manager Rebecca Clark; shop worker Janet Faraday and marketing manager Sue Riley.

The team plans to walk from Horton in Ribblesdale via Whernside, Pen y ghent and Ingleborough in 12 hours and will be led by Adrian Leigh who volunteered to help guide them following an appeal on Facebook.

Country Harvest owner Mike Clark said: “It’s a tremendous effort by everyone concerned and I would have loved to have joined them but someone has to work in the shop that day! We are very proud to be raising money for North West Air Ambulance and this challenge should really help boost our donation to them at the end of the year.”

Work is now well under way on creating our Christmas Cabin.

Builders started on the groundworks last week. Gavin Baker from Shanco, Castleford, and his team of Danny Phillips, Patrick Sullivan and Martin Nowak are making great progress. They spent this morning digging out the footings for the Cabin and at 2pm they’ll start pouring in the concrete….

Land has already been cleared for the 29 extra car parking spaces at the back of the barn. So we’re on schedule for the big opening on September 1. Put the date in your diary now!

WE are holding our very first Festival of Sausages this month (May).

Free sausage tastings every day, fun competitions and demonstrations are being planned along with an event to see how many sausages can be eaten in 60 seconds. If anyone fancies joining in please get in touch with [email protected]

“The range of sausages our butchery team make every day are some of our bestsellers so what better festival to have. Who doesn’t like a good old British banger! This will be a real celebration of the fantastic sausages we make here and we want our customers to get really involved with the various competitions we are planning,” said Mike Clark, owner of Country Harvest.

As part of the Festival we are asking people to come up with their favourite, unusual flavours of sausage. A variety of customer suggestions will then be created by the butchery team and tasted by our sausage panel (anyone fancy being on that?)  at 3pm on Thursday, May 4. Ideas for unusual flavours of sausage – the winner will receive a sausage-related prize – should be emailed to [email protected] or send them to Sausage Competition,

“We’ve won lots of awards for our sausages and now we want to create something really different so we are asking our Country Harvest customers for suggestions – the more eccentric the better! I’m really looking forward to having a go at creating them – should be a lot of fun!” said award winning butcher George Taylor.

The Festival will also feature George’s spicy sausage challenge at 3.30pm on Saturday, May 6. If you think you can take the heat then let us know so we make enough hot bangers on the day…but beware, they are going to be very, very spicy!

COUNTRY HARVEST is expanding!

This week we received planning permission to put a 60ft by 30ft Christmas Cabin in the grounds of our existing business, creating six new jobs. Work on the cedar-clad building starts after Easter.  The Cabin will officially open on September 1.

“Christmas is a really busy time for us and we want to ensure customers have an even wider choice of both gifts and decorations. This will bring visitors to Ingleton and the surrounding area at a hugely important time of year but one which is traditionally a quieter one for tourists. We will be offering lots of exciting and unusual decorations and gifts.  There will also be more traditional offerings to encourage people from further afield to shop here and that will have a positive impact on the wider area,” said Country Harvest owner Mike Clark.

Work starts on creating the building and 29 extra parking spaces – approved by Craven District Council’s planning committee on Monday – almost immediately. The Cabin will predominantly be used to sell Christmas items, but in the spring and summer will also promote the work of selected local artists.

“We have so many wonderful Christmas items which we have sourced from both the UK and across Europe – we want to offer our customers things that they will not see anywhere else locally. We are very excited about this huge development at Country Harvest.  This will enhance our existing offering in our gift hall and we hope our customers, old and new, will be as well,” said Mike. The Christmas Cabin will be managed by experienced retailers Rebecca Clark and Samantha Sherwin.

The 2017 spring/summer range of Tulchan women’s clothing is now in store.

We’re loving the new range – full of wonderful, warm colours and intricate zip and button details.

They’ve even got a design inspired by the buildings in Kirkby Lonsdale!
